Tom Morton is Honorary Research Fellow in the Department of Applied Linguistics, Birkbeck, University of London, where he was senior lecturer until 2015. Now based in Madrid, he participates in research projects on content and language integration in bilingual education. He has carried out research in bilingual education programmes on such topics as students’ language and literacy development, methodology of content and language integration and assessment, and teacher education and professional development. He teaches bilingual education modules on two MA programmes in Spanish universities (Pablo de Olavide in Seville, and the Universidad Internacional de la Rioja (UNIR)). He is co-author (with Ana Llinares and Rachel Whittaker) of The Roles of Language in CLIL (CUP 2012) and, with Ana Llinares, Applied Linguistics Perspectives on CLIL (Benjamins 2017). He has published many articles on CLIL and bilingual education in journals such as The International Journal of Bilingualism and Bilingual Education, Applied Linguistics, and Language and Education.
